Vicente José Santiago was surounded by the flamenco since he was born in a Spanish gipsy family. During his childhood he learned the rhythms and the codes of flamenco at reunions and parties often celebrated in a gipsy family. In addition, Vicente José Santiago complemented this knowledge with his studies at school and conservatory.
In 2012 he received a scholarship to study at the World Music Department at the Rotterdam Conservatory in The Netherlands, where he studied flamenco guitar with the living legend Paco Peña.
All through the years, Vicente José Santiago has been playing as a soloist and an accompanist to singers and dancers throughout Spain. He has played in some of the most important flamenco festivals such as Flamenco Biennale in The Netherlands and Festival de Cante Flamenco de Lo Ferro in Spain. He has composed music for choreographers such as Javier Latorre.
